To the Editor. Sir, —Re the,'case in whic^ 1 Jane Waldie was'arrested for vagrancy, Constable Dixon in his evidence said she was accommodated at Ranfurly House. She did get a bed at my place, but without my knowledge. Being after ten o’clock, I had gone to bed and left my son to lock up, and it was he who gave her the bed. Had I been there myself she certainly WQtild not have got a bed as I ddn’t cater for this class. She asked twice on Wednesday tor a bed but was refused both times. — I am etc., ' ■ y - ■ B.
