A DOCTOR AND HIS TROUBLES.

Stratford, May 16

The District Court was occupied till a late hour last night, hearing an application for a new trial in the action Paget v. Baskin, a case in which plaintiff, a doctor, sued a settler for £SOO damages for assault, by which the doctor’s arm was broken, the jury last February returning a verdict for defendant. A new trial was moved for on the grounds the defendant approached some of the jurymen summoned on the panel to try his case prior to the trial. Judge Haselden granted Paget’s application on the facts, leave to appeal against a new trial on law being granted Baskin.
