FOOTBALL.
The first football match of the season will take place on Saturday afternoon, when Albionsand Awahou meet in the Austin banner and G. Coley cup competition, Mr Frew acting as referee. Rongotea and Sandon meet at Rongotea, Mr Robinson refereeing. Mr S. Hickson is donating a cup for the junior competition, while Mr O. E. Austin has generously contributed fifteen caps for the Boys Competition. It is understood Foxton, Sandon, and Rongotea schoolboys will enter for the latter competition. Cash donations are recorded from Messrs E. Coley, O. Robinson M. Perreau, and J. Stevens, M.H.R.,for which the Sub-Union returns thanks. The following will represent Albions in their match against Awahou on Saturday ;—Desmond, Broad, Larkins, Hannah, McEwen, Bowe, B. Dunn, R. Newth, B. Rcbinson, J. Dunn, G. Robinson, Williams, P. Robinson, W. Coley, Emer(Backs) Edwards, Walker, Shields. Forwards—Chalk, Kennedy, Hunter, Howan, Rimmer. The team to represent Awahou on Saturday next will be picked from the following.—J. Joe, W. Robinson, Galbraith, Shia Shea, Saville, Bowe, Reid, S. Wright, Shadbolt, J. Dunn, Hooker, Reid, and Osboldstone, Williams, Redgrave, J. Coley. Dr Mandl has kindly consented to act as honorary surgeon to the Foxton Sub-Union. The Albion Football Club acknowledge with thanks donations from Messrs Shadbolt and Frankland.
