High Commissioner’s Report. The Department of Industries and Commerce has received the following report from the High Commissioner', dated London, the Bth instant : The mutton market is quiet, and there is no change to report in prices. The lamb market is firm. Lightweights are quoted at 5% d per for Canterbury, and other than Canterbury per !b. Heavy-weights Canterbury per lb, and other than Canterbury 5 d per lb. There is a better demand for beef. Stocks of new Zealand beef on hand are light. Prices ruling are and 3per lb for hinds and fores respectively. There is a fair demand for better grades of butter. Choicest New Zealand is quoted at 975. per cwt., and Danish 102 s. per cwt. The cheese market is steady with an improved demand, at 625. per cwt. The hemp market is quiet, but firm. Good fair grade on spot is quoted at ips per ton, MayJune shipments 10s per ton. Fair grade on spot, £3O per ton.
