FOOTBALL.
Foxton Sub-Union. A meeting of delegates from the different district teams entering for the Foxton football competitions was held at Mr Hall’s hotel, on Saturday evening. Mr R. Hynes was voted to the chair.
Mr Glieson attended, representing the Rongotea Football Club, and wished to know whether his, club could enter for the junior competition, but eventually the following motion was carried, proposed by Mr Hooker, seconded by Mr F. Robinson: “That no junior team be admitted to the Sub-union competitions unless governed by a senior competing team.” It was decided* That Foxton remain attached to the Manawatu Rugby Union as a sub-union. On the motion of Mr Wanklyn, seconded by Mr Robinson, it was decided, That there be two competitions (senior and junior) in Foxton Sub-union. It was also decided, on the motion of Mr Robinson, seconded by Mr Sanson, That the-senior competitions be two rounds and the junior three. It was finally agreed, That the Management Committee consist of five members, each delegate to have voting powers for the senior and junior clubs he represents, in the proportion of three votes for senior, and two for junior. The election of officers resulted as follows Patron, Mr J. Stevens (M.H.R.); President, Mr B. G. Gower (Mayor); Vice-Presidents : Messrs O. Austin, O. Robinson, G. Coley, M. Perreau, A. Shadbolt, E. Coley, G. Gray, A. Eaing, J. McKelvie, J.' Whisker, G. Nicholson, F. Rhodes, A. Davis, J. Baillie. Management Committee: F, Vile, G. Nicholson, F. Robinson, R. Hynes, W. Pinney. Sec. and Treasurer; —Mr En. Wanklyn. Auditor: Mr Bowater. Selection Committee: G. Nicholson, W. Pinney, and E. Wanklyn, Votes of thanks to the chair, and to Mr Hall for use of room, concluded the business. Since the meeting Mr Wanklyn finds he cannot attend to secretarial duties, and he has resigned the post. Until another appointment is made, the retiring secretary will undertake the duties. The. management committee meet at Gray’s Post Office Hotel next Saturday night to draw the fixtures, when nominations must be forwarded and fee enclosed. There is a likelihood of Bulls, Albions, Sandon, Rongotea and Awahou entering senior teams, while Bulls, Awahou and Albions will enter teams for the junior competition.
