FOXTON HOCKEY CLUB.
A general meeting of the above club was held, last evening in Mr J. W. Rough’s room, Dr Mandl (President) in the chair. There was a good attendance of members and a number of new members were elected, making the total membership 30. Mr Woods reported having secured a suitable ground at the rear of the English Church from Mr Symons and the Secretary was instructed to write thanking Mr Symons for his kindness in placing land at the club’s disposal. Mr Fowler submitted for the club’s approval a number of sticks and it was decided to order sufficient to allow pratice during next week. It would be well for members to order their sticks at once as a stock of these will not be held locally. A sample of shirt was submitted and the club decided to order a dozen in the meantime. The question of a ladies club was discussed but this was left over for the committee to take action. A working bee was arranged to put the grounds in order for practice next week. A donation of £1 is was received from Dr Mandl. The Secretary was instructed to write thanking him. A vote of thanks to the Chair, terminated'the meeting.
