HOCKEY.
At a meeting held on Thursday evening in Mr J, W. Rough’s, rooms, MrF. Woods in the chair a Hockey Club was formed which is to be called the Foxton Hockey Club. It was decided to affiliate with the New Zealand Hockey Association and the rules ot the governing body were adopted. The following officers were elected : —President, Dr. Mandl; Vice-Presidents, Messrs Clemett, Ross, snr., Adams and Chisholm ; Captain, F. Woods; Deputy-Cap-tain, W. Gordon ; Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, C. McGonagle; Committee, Messrs G- S. Fowler, R. Grace and J. W. Rough; Auditors, Messrs J. Starck and J. Gillespie. The colours of the club are maroon and- 1 white blouse, halved with dark pants and stockings. Already there are 22 members and the club should have no difficulty in placing two teams in the field.
A meeting for Monday week is called and all members and intending members are requested to be present. By the euthusiasm shown, Foxton should take a prominent place among the surrounding towns when it comes to trying conclusions.
