WELCOME TO REV. AITKEN.
An interesting gathering took place at the residence of Mr Thos. Mackenzie, Carnavon, on Saturday last. The Presbyterians in that part of the district, embracing the earliest opportunity to extend a welcome to the Rev. G. K. Aitkin on his appointment to this field of labour. Quite a large and representative gathering assembled, and Mr and Mrs Mackenzie were indefatigable in their efforts to make everyone comfortable, and succeeded. Mr R. B. Mackenzie and Miss Mackenzie (Secretary of the Carnavon Presbyterian Church Committee) also took an active part in entertaining the numerous guests. After Mr and Mrs Aitkin had been introduced to the gathering and the usual formalities got over, the company repaired to the lawn in front of the house, where afternoon tea was served and a most enjoyable two hours spent. Next morning service was conducted in the Carnarvon Public Hall, where a large congregation assembled,
