WEDDING BELLS.
KELLY—DUDSON. A pretty wedding was celebrated in St Mary’s Church, Foxton, by the Rev. Father Schaefer, on Wednesday last, April loth. The contracting parties were J. N. Kelly eldest son cf Mr and Mrs Robert Dyson Kelly, of Pigeon Bay, Canterbury, and Miss Florence Mary, eldest daughter of the late Mr Frank Dudson, of Foxton. The wedding march was nicely played as the parties entered and left the church, by Mr Berthold. When the party was assembled at the altar, the officiating minister, on behalf of the choir, presented the bride with a handsome gold chain and cross in recognition of her 14 years connection with the choir. The Rev. Father dwelt on the suitability of the gift and referred to its emblematical nature. The bride was attired in a navy blue costume with lace front and pale blue velvet hat trimmed with chiffon and carried a shower bouquet. She was attended by her youngest sister, Rose, dressed in pale blue voile, white velvet hat trimmed with silk. Mr Sydney Dudson, brother, gave the bride away, and Mr Jas. Dunn officiated as best man. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a handsome brooch and to the bridesmaid a gold chain and greenstone heart. The bride’s gift to the bridegroom was a set of gold sleevelinks. Alter the ceremony the wedding party, about 60 in number, adjourned to “ Nikau Villa,” the home of the bride’s mother and partook of afternoon tea, and the usual toasts were drunk in bumpers. The happy couple left by the coach eti route to Wellington, where the honeymoon is being spent, after which Mr and Mrs Kelly will take up their residence at Turakina. Among the numerous presents were included several substantial cheques.
