A LONG SWIM.
An old sexton who had been digging a grave heard that Jews were always buried with money in their hands, so he went to the churchyard at night, opened a coffin, and took out the money. The next time a Jew was buried,he again removed the money. Then he asked the parson why the money was put into the hands of dead Jews, and he was told it was to pay their passage over the river Jordon. The sexton looked very grave, and said : “ Then, I know two poor devils who will have to swim for it!”
