FOOTBALL.

The annual meeting ot the Awahou Football Club was held at the Post Office Hotel on Saturday evening last, Mr R. Thynue presiding. The meeting was well attended' thirty - nine members being present. The balance-sheet and general report presented by the Secretary was adopted as read. The following officers - were duly elected :—Patron, John Stevens, esq., M.H.R. ; President, A. Shadbolt, esq ; Vice-Presidents — Messrs O. Robinson, G. Stiles, A, Eaing, G. Gray, O. Austin, A. R. McDonald, H. Meder, F. Easton, W. G. Morgan, W. Howan, A. Wright, E. Simpson, J. Chisholm. Management Committee —Messrs E. Wanklyn.W. Eacey, S.Wright, W. Hooker, J. Reide. Delegates to Union —Messrs W. Hooker, R. Hynes, E. Wanklyn. Secretary and Treasurer —Mr Joe Jillett (reelected). Several new members were elected.

The election of captains and selection committee was held over till a later date.

A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the officers, captain, secretary and treasurer for their past support in connection with the Club.

The Chairman complimented the members on the success of the Club in the past championships, and hoped that this year they would prove themselves equal to the occasion by having the Austin Banner here in Foxton instead of Sanson.

The membership fee of the Club was fixed at ss. The Secretary was instructed to call a meeting of the Junior Club, and make arrangements for an early start in connection with club practice matches. After a good deal of discussion re the arrangements of various matters in connection with the Club, the meeting terminated with a 'vote of thanks to the chair and Mr G. Gray for the use of the room.

A meeting of the Albion Football Club will be held in the Manawatu Hotel on Thursday next at 7.30 o’clock to elect captain, etc.
