RACING.

The Oroua Bridge Annual Meeting. Oroua Bridge recorded, a fair attendance yesterday, while fields were large. Palmerston North Brass Band were in attendance and discoursed a good programme of music. In the pony event, Mr Alf. Arbon’s Tamer fell early in the race bringing down another contestant, but the horsemen escaped without serious injury. Amidst cheering, Miss Greenaway presented the winning cup jockey with a beautiful set of pipes, kindly donated by Mr J. McKenzie, of Palmerston. The secretary and officials deserve credit for the courte >us manner in which they attended to their duties. Bookmakers were present in full force plying their calling. A protest lodged against Rosewood not being eligible on district grounds to win the Local Race was dismissed. The following are the results : RUNNING EVENTS.
