Destruction of Tram Cars.

Melbourne, March 7

The whole stock of cars (seventeen) owned by the St. KildaWest Brighton Electric Tramway Company were destroyed by a fire at Elsternwick, The result is that business on the line has been suspended till cars are built.

The cause of the fire is a mystery. The current was cut off at the time of the outbreak, which occurred in the manager’s office. The damage is roughly estimated at .£15,000.
