LOCAL STATE SCHOOL CADETS.

Off to tho Exhibition.

The local State school cadets entrained at Foxton to-day, en route for the Exhibition. It is surprising how quickly Captain Adams has got the lads into order, and they looked quite smart as they swung along to the station. They will leave Wellington for the Te Anau at 6 p.m. Have dinner aboard to-day, and breakfast tomorrow. morning. They will return from Christchurch next Thursday night and arrive back in Foxton next Friday night. The boys will be under careful supervision, and the trip should prove a splendid outing for them. The following comprise the company : Captain Adams, Adjutant No. 1. Wanganui Battalion; Captain Gordon; lieutenants Westwood and Collins; Colour-Sergeant G. Levett; Sergeants T. Levett, Hamer, and Edwards; Corporals G. and S. Gray, Simpson, and Nye; Lance-Corporals Coley, Edlin and O’Reilly; Buglars Podmore and Walls; Drummer Williams ; Privates Laing, Spring, Spelm an, C. Robinson, Wyeth, V. Robinson, Hadfield, Neylon. Fraser, Crighton, Rurston, Rimmer, Walls, O’Reilly, Collins, Nelson, Walls, Lambess, Proctor, East, Barber, Andreson, Adin, Andrews, Barber (2), Neville.
