Mr Jarrett, who is the most successful instructor of physical culture in New Zealand, has decided to open a class in Foxton on the xoth. April next, provided 25 members hand in their names. There will be a class for women and a class for men. Radies and youths will be charged one guinea and men thirty shillings. All the appliances will be found by the instructor. Sandow refers to Mr Jarrett as the “Sandow of New Zealand,” and everyone .who subscribes to Sandow’s .Magazine will be acquainted with the alround athletic capabilities of Mr Jarrett. He is a New Zealand boy, and has left his name on the records of athletics in this colony. One of his pupils, in the person of Mr Marshall, of Wanganui (brother of Mr Marshall, of Moutoa), recently won a gold medal competition, presented by Sandow and open to the world, for the best developed man during the year. The photographs of quite a number of Mr Jarrett’ s pupils grace the" pages of Sandow’s Magazine. We might mention, in conclusion, that Mr Jarrett was the first instructor in New Zealand to recommend and carry out deep breathing in our public schools.
