THE NAVUA ROBBERY.

Auckland, March 3. On the arrival of the Manuka this afternoon, Lawrence Christie and Patrick Manning, who was recently arrested in Sydney in connection with the robbery of ,£IOOO on the s.s. Navua on the voyage between Sydney and Tonga, were immediately re-arrested by local detectives. The warrant charges them with the theft of j£iooo, the property of Messrs Lever Bros. The accused men came from Sydney (where no evidence was offered against them) nominally as free men, but they were accompanied by detectives, who will give evidence to-day in the Police Court proceedings against them.
