SELLING CHILDREN.
A Persian Iniquity.
Teheran, February 27
It was stated in the Persian Parliament at Teheran that 450 Persian children had been sold at Askhabad, the capital of the Russian Trans-Caspian Territory, and that 160 girls had been taken to Tiflis, capital of Caucasia, for service in the hotels there. The Governor of the Khorassan province of Persia was accused of connivance. He has been recalled.
A recent cablegram stated that Persian parents were selling their children in order to raise money to pay taxes.
