WoodviiaE, February 23. At the Court this morning three men, Vincent Pobar, Thos. Wilcox, and Robert Neil, were arraigned on charges of using obscene language and threatening behaviour and vagrancy. A riot took place in Vogel Street, yesterday, a young man being set on to by the accused. Several citizens interfered, most disgusting language was used by the accused. The police evidence showed that all three were racecourse guessers. The charges of vagrancy were dismissed. On the charge of threatening behaviour"" each man was fined £l, in default 14 days’ hard labour. On the obscene language charge Wilcox and Pobar were fined £5, in default a month, and Neil (who is only a lad) was fined .£3, in default 21 days.
