ORANGE BLOSSOMS.
HUGHES—MARTIN,
A quiet wedding was celebrated at the Woodville Methodist Church on Wednesday, when Miss Nellie Martin, filth daughter of Mr W. Martin, of Woodville, was married to Mr T. E. Hughes, of Foxton. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming costume of blue cloth trimmed with white, and pretty white lace hat. Misses Bertha and Julia Martin were the bridesmaids, and wore cream serge costumes and brown hats • they also wore gold brooches and gold band rings, the gifts of the bridegroom. Mr G. Hughes, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr W. Martin groomsman. The young couple received a large number of handsome presents. *
After the ceremony, the guests were entertained at the residence of the bride’s parents, where appropriate toasts were honored. Mr and Mrs Hughes left amid a shower of rice by the afternoon train en route for Auckland. They carry with them the good wishes of a large circle of friends.
