The deaths from cerebro-spinal meningitis are increasing in Dublin, Edinburgh and Belfast. Twentysix fatal cases occurred in Glasgow in three days, chiefly among the poorest class.

Epedemic cerebro-spinal meningitis or ** spotted fever ’’has for its chief symptoms convulsions, constant vomiting, and severe head- * ache, followed frequently, if the patent recovers, by paralysis. It is said strong men are especially susceptible to it, and that the most comntQU age of contraction is between twenty, and twenty-five. Death frequently takes place only a few hours after the attack.
