A ten-months-old child died suddenly yesterday morning. The child was suffering from dysentery, and its father was about to take it in a cab to a doctor. He was carrying it to the door when the little one died in his arms. At the inquest the jury returned a verdict of death from natural causes. The executive committee of the Seddon Memorial Technical College fund has received subscriptions to date amounting to £399 11s 1 Dunedin, February 8. The information charging Percival Commins with falsely pretending to be a doctor of medicine was dismissed. Mr Widdowson, S.M., held that the English cases of Ellis v, Kelly and Carpenter v. Hamilton, cited hy Mr Hanlon, as well as Hunter v. Clare, and Eegina v. Baker, supported defendant’s contention.
