ALL SAINTS’ ORGAN.
The parishioners of All Saints’ Church in particular and the citizens generally are to be congratulated oh the installation of a very nice pipe organ in All Saints’ Church. The instrument is from the factory of Nicholson and Lord, Walsall, England, and is certainly a very fine piece of work. Stops at present in the instrument are as follows ; —Great organ : Open diapason Btt., dulciana Bft, stopped d;apason and clarabella Bft, hi rmonic flute 4ft. Swell organ; Prepared tor four stops. Pedal organ; Bourden 16ft tone, prepared for flute bass Sft. Couplers ; Prepared for, great to pedals, swell to pedals, swell to great. Coinpass of manuals CC to G'—s6 notes ; compass of pedals, CCCtoF —30 notes. The number of pipes at present in (he organ is 342, but when the swell organ is added and the other pedal stop the pipes will be dauble the number, Mr N. T. Puarce, organ builder, of Christchurch, and his son, have been building and finishing the organ in the Church for several days past, and completed the work last Saturday, the 19th inst. Mr Pearce speaks well of the workmanship and tone of the organ, and is highly pleased with the general excellence of it. The opening and dedication of the instrument will take place on Sunday, February 3, at 11 a.m. service. Mr C. F. England will play on that day.
