Charge of Manslaughter.

Wellington, Yesterday The Crown has decided to proceed against W. S. O’Brien, deputy-superintendant of the fire brigade, and P. O. Spry, driver of the brigade motor-engine, on a charge, of manslaughter. This action is the outcome ofthefatalijjk which on the afternoon of IJecember 17th last, when Mrs ton was run over and killed by the motor engine. The deputy superintendant was in charge of the brigade at the time, and Spry was driving. The case has been set down for hearing at the Magistrate’s Court on Friday,next, 25th inst.
