The “ Daily Mail, ’’commenting on the oillcial list of the (Htanuel, Atlantic and Mediterranean fleets, and the cruiser squadrons; after the Lagos manoeuvres in March next, remarks that the reduction in the fighting force im. mediately available on the outbreak of war will be nearly 25 per cent. January 8. The Admiralty declare that there is no reduction on ships or men, and no weakening of the navy as a fighting force.
