MOUTOA NOTES.
[own correspondent.]
Moutoa presented an unusually gay appearance last Saturday, when cricket and rounders teams in charge of Miss Voysey and Mr Stewart, visited Moutoa and played teams from the local school. The Foxton girls succeeded in defeating tbair opponents by 49 rounders to 32 ; but the boys suffered defeat at the hands of the Moutoa lads by an innings and 23 runs. The games were played on grounds kindly lent by Mr Puti for the season to the Moutoa Cricket Club. The pitch, which was laid out by the local club players, was in perfect order. Indeed the grounds here are so much superior to those at tbe disposal of the Foxton Club that it is a great pity more matches cannot be arranged to take place out here. The following are the scores FOXTON. S. Rowe Ist innings 4, 2nd innings 23, G, Edwards 6 and 5, B. Lambess 2 and 4, W. Howe o and 7, W. Betty o and 1, A. Edlin 4 and 0, D. Re6ve|3 and 0, W.
