FIRES.

Masterton, Thursday. - Shortly after midnight last night a fire was discovered in a board-ing-house in Queen-street owned by the Trust Lands Trust and occupied by Mrs Watson. One of the inmates was burned to, death, and two others sefsously injured. The victim has not yet been identified, hut he is believed to be John Cuff, who came to the district from Oamaru recently. The building was insured lor jCt 75 » and the furniture for both in the Northern Office.
