Messrs Hatrlck and Co. advertise special cheap fares. A four days trip from Wanganui to the beautiful and well-appointed houseboat at the junction of the Ohjhra Palls with the Wanganui River'" is based on a steamer fare of 10s per day. The distance to this point and return to Wanganui is 240 miles. A two days’ trip, Wanganui to Pipiriki, is figured out on the same basis, 10s per day; or £1 return. In addition to these special trips there is the regular run, junctioning with the central railway at Taumaranui, thence down stream to Wanganui, or „ vice versa and the beautiful under reaches trip beyond Pipiriki. Tfye , Wanganui River is now visited By' thousands of people annually. It is one of the most favoured tourist and holiday resorts.
