CRUELTY TO A HORSE.
WELL-MERITED PUNISHMENT Wanganui. Nov. 19. Al Ihe Police Court this morning a young rmiu mimed Caruthers was sentenced to four months’ imprisonment for wiltully damaging a mare. The evidence showed that the accused losing his temper when trying to make a jibbing animal pull a load, broke a shovel handle over its head and put a lighted fuse under it, with the result the udder was destroyed, and the mares legs and thighs roasted.
