The Late Hon. A. Pitt
Christchurch, Nov. 18. The Hon A. Pitt, AttornejrGeneral, Minister for Defence and Minister in charge of the Government Accident and Fire Insurance Departments,. died at 5.15 this morning at Nurse Turner’s private nursing home, where he underwent a serious operation a few days ago. Feeling references to the deceased are made in all parts of the colony. The interment takes place at Nelson on Wednesday. Speaking at Invercargill in reference to the deceased Sir Joseph Ward said, “ I deeply lament his death and the colony’s loss. The Ministry has lost a careful adminis-r, trator, and a wise and experienced counsellor. At the present time I cannot, of course, discuss the future.”
