NOTES.

[By Outrigger,]

It is very pleasing to note that the club has a live committee at work and the public can lopk forward to an enjoyable time-at the regatta. Another pleasing feature is to be the launching of the ‘.‘Old Dolly Vafden ” for the first time for a number of years. The following is the crew to go out: —J. Gordon stroke, R. G. Hickson Nb. 3, W. J. Gardner. No. 2, J. Marsh bow, R. Grace cox.

I am pleased to see that some o{ the colts are warming up to their work. Herewith are a few of the faults that I have been able to discern : J Rough has a bad habit of opening his legs on coming up on the slide thereby causing the boat to roll considerably, and pulling with his arms instead of his shoulders. R. Grace is shaping fairly well, but at times evidently thinks he is out fishing for mussels as he tries to get to the bottom of the river. R. G. Hickson is coming along very well but he has one very bad fault, viz., jerking on his seat at the finish of the stroke, which causes the boat to roll. J. Gordon is very much out of "form at present; needs more outrigger .vork instead of pleasure ; boating. J. Walker has rather a bad habit )f hanging on to his oar at the inish of the stroke, and will require to get the hands smarter rway from the body. E. Walker is a promising young oarsman, though a trifle nervous, and does lot quite use the full benefit bf his boulders. I also think that J. Marsh should rid himself of the habit of getting down too deep in the water. M. Littlej ohn. is a little bit on the stiff side yet. owing to lack of experience. However, practice should overcome that. W. Gardner, I have not seen out recently. W. Shields, under, the careful coaching of skipper Gordon is coming along very well, but nust cultivate more shoulder work instead of his arms, and npt dip so leep. East but not'least I see some of the tendersex are keeping in form for our regatta/ BSlng too far away I was not able to discerp who they were blit will keep an eye on them in the future,' and would like to suggest to the committee that they elect me.us ope of the handicap committee for that event.
