TE RANGI PAI SONG RECITAL.

The only recital to be given by Te Rangi Pai, takes place on Tuesday evening next in the Public Hall. Her successes among the great singers of the day at the Royal Albert Hall. St James’, the Queen’s Hall and the Crystal Palace, London, as well as at the leading musical festivals throughout Great Britain, have stamped her as an artist of commanding ability. Te Rangi Pai's recent appearances in Wellington, Christ* chmch, Dunedin and Auckland were of a very cordial character* The ” New Zealand Times,’* says that when Te Rangi Pai, New Zealand’s finest contralto vocalist, appeared upon the concert platform at the Town Hall, Wellington, she received a welcome from the immense audience which must have been extremely gratifying to her, even though she had been similarly complimented in many European centres. The house practically rose at her, and this favourable opening of the song recital continued throughout a long but happily arranged programme, Te Rangi Pai has succeeded in bringing together one of the finest concert parties that has been heard in this town. With such a contralto, and with Miss Tatton, soprano; Mr Handley Wells, baritone ; and Mr Horace Hunt, pianist ; there is no vocal music which- could not be more adequately , rendered. The plan for reserved seats is opened at Fraser’s, where the advance booking indicates a crowded house to greet our distinguished visitor. ■
