SUICIDE.
Wellington, To-day.. , An inquest was held yesterday afternoon at a private hospital at 217 Willis street, conducted by . , Nurses Lucas and Broadbent, concerning the death of Bart CHitty Dean, fifty-two years of age, a married man, who was found between 7 and 8 o’clock yesterday morning in his room with his threat cut.
R. H. Edwards,. residing at Majoribanks street, said he had' known deceased from boyhood. He was a native of Launceston, and for the past four years had been postmaster at Palmerston South. He came to Wellington on medical advice for the benefit of his health. He had, been suffering for sometime from an affection of the head, and latterly had required a good deal of attention. Deceased had a wife and three daughters and one son, who were then staying at witness’s house. The jury returned a ver. diet that deceased committed suicide by cutting his throat during a fit of temporary insanity.
