MANAWATU ROWING CLUB.

A meeting of the Maaawatu Rowing Club was held in the Manawatu Hotel last evening. Captain Gordon presided, and there were also present, Messrs Marsh, Gillespie, Benge, Grace, Rough, and Secretaay Gardner. Affairs in reference to the opening day were settled. The trophies won will be distributed by the Captain. It was decided to call tenders for the erection of new skids at the sheds. The question of sending a team to Wanganui regatta was held over pending quotations being received for new boats. s lt was resolved to hold several minor competitions in the pair oar outriggers with a view of selecting representative crews. Several new members were elected. A member of the Committee was “carpeted” for negligence on opening day but a satisfactory explanation being forthcoming the affair was allowed to drop.
