THOSE DUCK EGGS.
|to the editor.]
Sir .—Kindly allow me space to inform your ‘correspondent the quack Indian duck specialist who, from his assumed knowledge oi the anatomy of a duck, states that I am in error about my eight Indian Runners laying 14 eggs on the 23rd inst, it being impossible for them to do so. I wish to confirm what I advised you is an absolute fact. It may surprise him to learn that my eight ducks laid 63 eggs in seven days, on the 20th 8 eggs, 21st 8, 22nd 9, 23rd 14. 24th 8, 25th 8, and 26th 8 eggs. Further, that they have frequently laid 10 eggs, the last occasion being on the 29th inst. I have every confidence in the ducks continuing to maintain their laying reputation so am not prepared to sacrifice any f*eir lives for your ignoramus rt to hold a post mortem on in hopes of proving his theory, lacts being to my mind strong than theory.—Yours, etc., S. H. Baker.
