PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

A meeting of the combined committees of the above church was held at Foxton yesterday. Representatives were present from Carnarvon, Glen Oroua, Tiakitahuna and Foxton. The Rev. Mr Jolly, Moderator, presided. Financi il and other matters were discussed at length. The action of the Moderator in appointing Mr Nicol, of Dunedin, to succeed Mr Speirs during the summer months was approved. A great dealof routine business was discussed. It was decided to ask Century Fund for a Joan of towards the erection of a manse at Foxton and ,a building committee was set up to arrange all details. Mr Rough consented to prepare plans, etc., free of charge, which will be submitted to the Presbytery for approval. A meeting is to be called in three months’ time to decide re the appointment of a successor to Mi Nicol. The meeting then rose.
