A YOUNG FORGER.
Auckland, This Day. Walter Richard Webb, under 16 years of age was charged at the Police Court with forging a cheque f° r £ 33 8 in the name of Edmond Mahoney. The evidence showed that though accused was not employed by Mahoney, he discovered Mahoney’s method of perforating his cheques, and copied them so cleverly that they deceived the bank clerk, though the signature was a forgery. Accused made a full confession of his crime, and was committed for trial.
