ATHLETIC CLUB.
A meeting of the committee of the Foxton Athletic Club was held last night at Mr Laing’s hotel. Present: Messrs Shadbolt (chair), Frew, Howe, Thompson, Hadfield, Martin, Perreau, Bak.r, Jillett, Sutherland, and the Secretary. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The secretary of the White Star Minstrels, Feilding, wrote stating that they would not be able to come through on November 9th, as most of their members have made other arrangements for that date. The working up of the concert for sports night was left in the hands of Messrs Sutherland and Jillett. It was decided that Mr Walker’s trophy value £2 10s remain as second prize in the local bicycle ! race. This will make two very handsome trophies for first and second prizes. Accounts amounting to ,£34 6s 1 6d were passed for payment. Votes of thanks to the chair and to Mr 1 Laing for the use of the room conI eluded the meeting.
