SANDON TRAMWAY RETURNS.
The Tramway report for the six months ending 30th September last is as fellows; Receipts from all sources, £lOl7 cjs fid, expenditure £1415 14s 1 id. The apparent deficiency was £398 5s fid, but that included a total outlay of £483 5s lid for sleepers (£3O 14s 3d) and rails and fastenings ,(£462.ns 8cl), which, if taken to, credit,would leave a profit of £go os 3d for the halfyear, without including interest, charges. A commencement had been made with the work of renewing the line at Rongotea, and repairs had been made to the pig-yards at Rongotea. Particulars were also given of the work of regrading several hills on the line. The traffic last month was’as follows :■ —grain 35 tons, other merchandise 1 tons, chaff 3 (rocks, pigs 1 truck, straw 1 trenk, timber 617,000 feet, fares-I f/’i 12s 3d, fencing material 2 truck;.;.]
