THE UNEMPLOYED IN FOXTON.
[to the editor.] Sir.—l believe that lam right in my assertion when I say that there are a number of labourers looking for work in Foxton and unable to obtain same. My attention was called recently by seeing the overseer for the Borough cutting down trees on a private property (I allude to the Foxton Dawn Tennis Club courts) also rolling the asphalt courts. As the person above alluded to is supposed to be employed by the Borough Council and has not the privilege of outside employment, I would like, on behalf of the unemployed in Foxton to know why this individual is privileged to do this work to the detriment of others. Possibly the Town Clerk, who 1 believe is a prominent official of the local tennis club can answer my question.—l am etc, One You Knows.
