The following is a return of bankruptcy business transacted in Palmerston during the quarter ending September 30th last The number ot bankruptcies unclosed at the end of the preceding quarter was 23, and the number of fresh bankruptcies occurring during the quarter was 5, making a total of 28 now in hand. The statement of accounts shows cash in hand to be ,£264 12s 2d, as against 2 19s 2d at the beginning of the quarter ; 4s sd was paid out in dividends, including preferential claims, and £8 17s in wages. Government commission actually earned came to 9s 6d, and the cost of administration to 16s.
