A GRUESOME FIND.
Murder or Foolish Joke.
Melbourne, Sept. 21. Two boys, while fishing in a lagoon at Albert Park, found a parcel floating in the water. An examination showed the contents to be a portion of the body of a man. The flesh had been cut from the lower portion of the trunk, but no trace of bones was found. The remains were wrapped up in a portioh of a shirt, the edges of which were charred and had obviously been burnt. A second parcel showed a mixture of human organs, adheting to which was a granular shbstance that seemed to be saw-dust. The decomposed nature of the remains makes it appear as if they had been thrown into the water a month ago. A remarkable feature is the absence of bones, which suggests the possibility of a gruSode joke on ithe part of medical stu" dents. The police regard it as a case of murder.
