Sacond Day.

By Telegraph—Special to Herai.d. Hack Hurdles. Mahoe 1, Bandmaster 2, Hydroscope 3. Clifton Steeplechase.—Needlework 1, Sammy 2, South Star 3. Dividends, £3 4s and £1 6s. ... Telegraph. Fontenoy 1, St. Bill 2, Miss Adelaide 3. Dividends, £1 18s and 19s. [contributed.] During a trip through Moutoa, looking at the stock depasturing on the holdings of the various selectors, I was struck with the excellent appearance of a yearling by Conqueror—Sheet Lightning. The first glance I had of him was when he was startled. Head well in the air, arched neck, legs slim and strong, good shoulders, back not too long and well proportioned hindquarters. I predict a brilliant future for the colt; he will, I think, be a worthy representative of his record breaking sire.
