A Gruesome Find.
Wellington, this day. The dead body of a man, with throat cut, was found yesterday on an old camping ground in a gully on the Wadestown estate, not far from the main road to Kaiwarra. A razor was found on the grass close by. The police were notified, and the body was taken to the morgue, where an inquest will be held. The body is supposed to be that of a seaman named Frederick Hedgelong, also known as Fred. Brown, who has been missing from the Otago Buffet on Eambton Quay since August 16. Hedgelong’s movements were traced up to Aug. 19th, on which date he was at the Salvation Army Home, in Buckle street. He could not be traced further.
