Children’s Fancy Dress Ball.
The invitation ball tendered to the juveniles of Foxton by Mr and Mrs Berthold, assisted by a number of the parents of Mr Bertbold’s pupils, was a pronounced success last evening, despite the adverse weather conditions. About 120 children mostly in fancy dress were present. The music was supplied by Mr Berthold’s private orchestra, consisting of cornet (Mr Ebbett), piano (Mr Berthold), euphonium (Mr Betty), violins (Misses M. Laing and A. Symons), flute and piccolo (Mr Norman), ’cello (Mr- R. Hickson). Messrs A. and J. Dunn, assisted by Mr J. Gillies, officiated as M.’sC. The supper provided by the parents was all that could be desired, and the good things were greatly appreciated by the kiddies. Shortly after.ll p.m. the adults occupied the floor for a short time. A list of the children’s names and the characters represented will appear in our next issue.
