Rowing Club Ball.
The above took place in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening but by reason of counter attractions there -was only a moderate attendance. The affair from a social point of view was, however, a decided success. The floor had been specially prepared by several gentleman during the afternoon, and was in excellent order. The music supplied by Mr Berthold (piano) and Ebbett (cornet) was first-class. Messrs B. G. Gower and 0. Austin officiated as M.’s C. The supper, many of the good things for which were provided by the ladies was voted excellent, and the tables were artistically decorated with the club’s colours. The indefatigable secretary, Mr Hill, assisted by Mesdames Gower, Clemett, Frew, Ball, and the Misses Austin, Speirs, Eaing, and Messrs Bradley, Hickson, Shad bolt, Imrie, and others deserve special praise for the successful carrying out of the many details. The committee desire to thank Miss Eaing for making the rosettes, and others who in any way assisted.
