All Saints Sunday School.
The annual prize-giving at All Saints Sunday School took place on Tnursday evening. There was a very pleasing attendance of parents and elders, who showed their interest and appreciation in very substantial fashion. The Vicar was able, in his address, to say that so many prizes had been given by parishioners that some would remain for presentation next year. The prizes were a handsome lot of booqs, and the winners went home in a very happy state of mind. After presenting the prizes the vicar called for three cheers for the teachers, whose invaluable work he warmly praised. The children responded with their usual happy heartiness and then rewarded the donors of the books with a similar compliment. The following is the prize-list:— . Girls. Class i.—Belle Small and Beryl Fraser (equal). Class ii.—lvy Small. Class in.—Sissy Betty. Infants.—Alice Knapp and Kitty Carroll, Bovs. Class i.—Jack Carroll. Class ii. —Gordon Feek. Class in.—John Vidulich. The children, under the direction of the superintendent (Mrs W, S. Stewart), gave a capital evening’s entertainment. The programme included ; Chorus, “ The Hazel Dell ” ; recitation, “ DoHy’s Eesson,” E ossie Small ; piano solo, Nellie Arbon; frog chorus, M. Nye, G. Feek, Alf. Arbon, and R. Barber ; dialogue, “The Everlasting Talker,” by five elder girls ; recitation, “ The Soldier’s Kiss,” Belle Small; action song, by seven little girls ; violin duet, Ava and Elsie Symons ; dialogue, “ The Sick Baby,” Myra Wanklyn, Ivy Small and Alex. Clemett ; chorus, “Poor Old Joe”; sailor’s hornpipe, Rita and Vivian Chrichton ; dialogue, “ The Wonderful Scholar,” by three girls; chorus, “ The Cat in School ” ; recitation, “ How Father Reads the Paper,” Rosa Hadfield ; chorus, “ Good Old Jeff ” ; recitation, “ The Soldier’s Dream,” Alex. Clemett. Mrs James Symons kindly lent the piano, and Miss Jenks accompanied the songs.
