Manslaughter.

ashwin sentenced to 10 YEARS. Wanganui, Yesterday. _ At the Supreme Court this morning, Leonard Ashwin, who was found guilty of manslaughter, was put forward for sentence. The charge arose orlt of the death of a boarder who was staying at Ashwin’s boarding-house. Ashwin set the house on fire and the boarder was suffocated. The Chief Justice sentenced the prisoner to 10 years’ hard labour. A charge of arson against him was held over.
