Oddfellowship.

fortnightly meeting ot the Foxton Lodge was held in the Good Templars Hall on Tuesday evening when there was a large attendance of members. Bro. J. E. Morgan, N.G., presided. Bro. Hickson occupied the G.M. cb and Bro. Thompson the V A. chair. Five new members were initiated into the mysteries of Oddfellowship and thirteen were proposed for next meeting. Several matters of interest appertaining to the welfare of the town were discussed at length and also the question of securing yearly beds in Palmerston Hospital. The proposed national memorial to the late Premier, Richard John Seddon, was also discussed. The desirability of procuring the services of a resident doctor was voiced. Seventeen brothers were put through the first drgree.
