Foxton Rifle Club.

At a meeting of the Foxton Rifle Club held last week (Captain Austin in the chair), Mr J. Gillespie was awarded a leg-in for Motoa Estate Cup. It was decided that targets be re-canvassed and papered, that the third competition in Motoa Estate Cup start on August 15th, and finish Aug. 25th ; also that a return match with Shannon be suggested place on Aug. 29th, the conditions to be seven men aside, seven shots at each range, and the ranges to be 200, 300, and 500 yards. The Club acknowledge with ' thanks a trophy valued £1 is from Mr A. Shadbolt. Mr W. Cook was appointed a member of the Club. The next meeting of the Club will be held at Mr E. Howe’s shop on Aug. 25th.
