Taylor-Carrington Co.
On Wednesday night next the above popular company appear at the Public Hall in an entirely new adaptation of Charlesßeade’s moral and realistic book, “ Never too late to Mend.” The pathos in the character of Josephs, the brutalities Of the prison officials, the villianies o r Meadows and confederate, and the jovial philosophic Tom Robinson, together with the impish aboriginal Jacky Jacky, make as strong an appeal on the feelings of the audience of to-day as they did on the people years ago when Reade’s famous story made its first appearance. And if staged and acted in a manner characteristic of the performances of the TaylorCarrifigton Company the production can be relied on to attract a good house. Mr Charlie Taylor appears as Tom Robinson, a goodhearted bad character, and Miss C irrington in the dual robes of the Unfortunate Josephs and Jacky Jacky, the Australian black boy. The cast is long and evenly distributed and the mounting up to the usual standard of T.C. productions.
